UCI’s Anteater Racing încludes a team focussed on the design, fabrication and testing of an electric race car for the Formula SAE Validation Event. This involves mechanical, electrical and computer engineering students, who integrate the chassis, suspension, steering and body, with a high voltage electrical drive system, and low voltage sensor and safety system. This complex challenge demands every member learn design, fabrication and testing skills in a range of disciplines.
This video presents the results of their effort over the past year, while under pandemic safety restrictions. Their ability to communicate effectively, work as a team, resolve differences and move toward successful completion on a strict schedule shows that they will serve us all well as working engineers.
