The leg mechanisms for these walkers are complicated so it helps to start with two legs rather than four or more, and to use wheels to provide the remaining support. An Arduino and Cytron board combined with an IR sensor and remote control provide forward, reverse and change of speed for the drive motor. We put the wheels in front for these designs so as the foot comes forward to initiate the stride, it is closer to the center of gravity, thus increasing the traction force.
